Gwyneth Paltrow has listed her LA traditional-style home

Actress turned business mogul Gwyneth Paltrow is streamlining her impressive portfolio of gorgeous real estate, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Since the completion of her custom-built Montecito home after six years of renovations, and her two children fleeing the nest, Paltrow has listed her home for just under US $30 million — an impressive NZ $48.43 million.

Located in LA’s upscale Brentwood suburb, celebrity neighbours include rapper Kendrick Lamar, alongside Cindy Crawford, Kate Hudson and Reese Witherspoon, just to name a few.

Gwyneth Paltrow and her ex-husband, Chris Martin, purchased the 1950s dwelling in 2012, for about $10 million. With the help of Los Angeles interior design firm Windsor Smith, Paltrow added her personal touch to the home. She has since added a one-bedroom guesthouse, a massive wine cellar, a gym, a home theatre, an office and a game room, among many other delights.

The home now features eight bedrooms overall (including the additional apartment above the two-car garage and guest house) and 11 bathrooms across the 1,189 square metres of interior living space. Not too shabby for the next proud homeowner.

For the woman who famously said “I’d rather smoke crack than eat cheese from a tin,” of course the kitchen is going to impress even the best celebrity chefs.

Functional and sophisticated, the large white and black kitchen features a vast island, a wood-burning oven, double cooktops and ranges, and a gorgeous white marble splashback. You can imagine the wellness guru using the space to serve up a nourishing, plant-based meal.

Throughout the rest of the home, elements of Paltrow’s design-forward elements fill every corner. Reclaimed wooden floors, patterned stonework, high ceilings and beautiful mouldings give this home a unique sense of character.
